Holdfast’s three investment themes -- real estate operating companies and REITs, non-performing loans and acquisitions of distressed single assets -- have been designed in response to the economic and financial dislocation affecting the Asia Pacific region, and specifically Australia, Korea and Japan. While private equity investors have traditionally focused on leveraged buy-outs and direct equity investments, we believe that solely investing in equity securities in the current environment is excessively narrow given the opportunities to access quality asset via credit-type investments.
